Before starting the list, we must tell you that we have taken the data from the CIA’s The World Factbook for the sake of compiling this list. 

1- China

Leading the list of the top exporting countries in Asia, China’s exports were valued at approximately $3.51 trillion in 2023. The country’s export portfolio is dominated by electrical machinery and equipment, which accounted for about 58.6% of its total exports, reflecting China’s status as the “world’s factory.

2- Japan

Next on the list of the top exporting countries in Asia is Japan. Home to some of the biggest tech and automobile companies in the world, Japan has been at the forefront of exporting for a long time now. With exports totalling $920 billion, Japan takes the second spot here. Along with automobiles and electronics, Japan is also a leader in the manufacturing and export of heavy machinery. 

3- Singapore

Singapore is one of the trading hubs in Asia, and with $874 billion worth of exports in 2023, it is one of the top exporting countries in Asia. The country’s strategic location and advanced port facilities make it a central part of global trade. Three of the top commodities Singapore exports are electronics (31.27%), machinery (14.26%), and mineral fuels & oils (13.12%). 

4- India

India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. So, it’s no surprise that it is also one of the top exporting countries in Asia. In 2023, India’s total exports stood at around $778.2 billion. The country exports diverse products, including textiles, pharmaceuticals, and information technology services, reflecting its broad industrial base. Moreover, India is the biggest rice exporter in the world, a commodity which is consumed by billions worldwide.

5- South Korea

South Korea’s exports reached approximately $769.5 billion in 2023, making it one of the top exporting countries in Asia. The nation is a major exporter of semiconductors, automobiles, and ships. Some of South Korea’s top exports include electronics (30.51%), machinery (12.83%), vehicles (10.11%), mineral fuels & oils (7.96%). 

6- Hong Kong

With exports totalling around $673.3 billion in 2023, Hong Kong is among the top exporting countries in Asia. Moreover, Hong Kong serves as a vital conduit for goods, especially between China and the rest of the world. Some of Hong Kong’s top exports are electronics (54.42%), machinery (13.09%), pearls & precious stones (11.98%). 

7- Taiwan

The home of TSMC, the biggest semiconductor company on the planet, there’s no doubt that Taiwan is one of the top exporting countries in the world. Taiwan’s exports were valued at approximately $388.5 billion in 2019. The island is a leading producer of semiconductors, with a 68% share of the advanced semiconductor market, making it indispensable in the global electronics supply chain.

8- Vietnam

Vietnam’s exports reached about $374.3 billion in 2023. The country has become a significant exporter of textiles, electronics, and footwear, attracting substantial foreign investment due to its competitive labour costs and favourable trade agreements. It is also one of the top rice exporters in the world. All of this makes it one of Asia’s top exporting countries.   

9- Thailand 

Thailand’s exports were valued at approximately $336.9 billion in 2023. The nation is known for exporting automobiles, electronics, and agricultural products, benefiting from a well-developed industrial base and strategic location in Southeast Asia. Along with India and Vietnam, Thailand is also among the top three rice exporters in the world. 

10- Malaysia

Malaysia’s exports stood at about $312.9 billion in 2022. The country is a key exporter of electronics, particularly semiconductors, as well as palm oil and petroleum products, leveraging its rich natural resources and manufacturing capabilities. Some of Malaysia’s top exports include Integrated Circuits ($78.9B), Refined Petroleum ($38.5B), and Petroleum Gas ($19.5B).
