Meta Platform on Tuesday announced the rollout of Muse Image, its first image-generation model from Meta Superintelligent Labs, as Facebook’s parent company expands its generative AI repertoire and plans to integrate it across its apps. According to Meta, Muse Image, which is integrated into the Meta AI Chatbot, can interpret complex prompts, use photos as input for generation, and let users edit photos on a whim with sketches or annotations.

The unique aspect of Muse  Image is its integration with Meta’s apps like Instagram and WhatsApp. According to the company, Muse Image will power more than 30 new AI effects on Instagram Stories and enable image generation in direct chats with Meta AI on WhatsApp, initially in only a few countries. However, with time, Meta plans to expand Muse Image to more countries and apps like Facebook and Messenger.

Regarding the price band for the service, the company stated that basic use of Muse Image with Meta AI is free. That being said, additional creation capabilities will be available through Meta’s subscription plans. On top of that, Meta also unveiled their upcoming video generation model, Meta Video. We can expect the new tool to roll out later this year or early next year.
