India-based Eros investment group is set to invest $1 billion to establish Malaysia’s first AI park and movie studio, announced Gobind Singh Deo, Malaysia’s digital minister. The decision was followed by a series of meetings held with business leaders at a conference in New Delhi,  where he met Ali Hussein, CEO of Immerso AI-IP, to discuss further. Officials of both nations hint that the investment is expected with the collaboration of AI universities and data centres, which can potentially create more than 5,000 jobs in the next five years in Malaysia. It will drive global collaboration to support startups. Also, AI-based movie studios and film city hubs will enhance the talent skills for transmedia and the rise of digital production in Malaysia.

Malaysia and India also signed an MoU for a business-to-business partnership with the exchange of digital technology-based solutions to seek opportunities for industry players. This MoU was held between Nasscom and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). With the partnership, local talents will get training in specific fields, including cybersecurity, Generative AI, next-generation technologies, and software development.
