Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was forced to resign after a recording of her conversation with Cambodian leader Hun Sen was leaked. In the recording, she appeared to criticise her country’s powerful military and used an unprofessional, casual term, referring to him as “Uncle. ” The conversation sparked dissatisfaction among the public and her family, marking the beginning of the end for the Paetongtarn administration.

On Thursday, many protesters gathered outside her home. She decided to organise a press conference to express her apology. Also, she was not able to directly address the calls and said it was unacceptable for Mr Hun Sen to make their conversation public. Paetongtarn Shinawatra is the youngest lady to hold the position of prime minister and comes from a powerful family of politicians.
