Raymond Tan has been appointed as Managing Director at BMW Group Malaysia. This Appointment marks a return to the Malaysian business. In his new role, he will lead general management, sales, marketing, product strategy and automotive operations as the head of the company’s Malaysian business. 

Prior to this appointment, Raymond served as Managing Director of BMW Group for more than 7 years, covering Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Previously, he was based in Taiepi City, Taiwan, where he served as Head of Sales for the same regions.

The new role marks the return of Raymond to BMW Group Malaysia, where previously he served as Head of Sales and Head of Marketing for nearly 12 years. Earlier in his BMW career, Raymond served as Regional Product Manager based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany and as Product & Price Planning Manager based in Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

He began his career with Proton in Rapid Prototyping Engineering, later promoted to Head of Cost Improvement Unit. Raymond holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics from the University of Melbourne and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Malaysia.
