What mindset or habit has been key to your success in launching multiple ventures?

The unique entrepreneurial mindset I credit most is the unwavering commitment to never give up on trying and continuously learning. Life often brings unexpected opportunities, and the key is staying prepared and adaptable.

"For me, business is not just about success but also about creating lasting value and legacy for future generations. I believe that compromising on our vision or principles for the sake of business success leads to unethical decisions, potentially even crime"

By embracing challenges and staying open to new things, I’ve been able to seize opportunities when they arise, allowing me to successfully launch and grow multiple ventures. This mindset keeps me resilient and always ready for whatever the future holds.

Have you ever compromised on your principles to achieve business success? How did you handle it?

For me, business is not just about success but also about creating lasting value and legacy for future generations. I believe that compromising on our vision or principles for the sake of business success leads to unethical decisions, potentially even crime. In navigating challenges, I’ve stayed committed to upholding my core principles and vision, as they serve as a guiding framework for success in the right way. By adhering to these values, the success we achieve becomes meaningful, enduring, and sets a positive example for others to follow. The focus should always be on achieving success ethically, with integrity, ensuring that what we build has a lasting and positive impact.

What’s the biggest misconception about Indonesian street food abroad, and how do you address it?

A common misconception about Indonesian street food abroad is that it’s often viewed as unhygienic and too spicy. While Indonesian street food has gained decent popularity globally, some still hold this stigma. To address this, we’ve introduced a modern, hygienic, and easy-to-consume version of our street food. By providing these options, we ensure that customers can enjoy the authentic taste of Indonesian cuisine in a cleaner, more accessible form while accommodating diverse tastes and preferences.

How has your leadership style evolved throughout your entrepreneurial journey?

My leadership style is empowering. I firmly believe that great achievements are not possible alone; they are the result of a cohesive team working together. Over my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve learnt the importance of trusting my team and helping them grow into leaders themselves. By fostering an environment of collaboration and support, I ensure that everyone is aligned with our vision and can contribute to the success of the venture. This evolution has been crucial to achieving sustainable growth.

How do you measure your products' cultural impact globally and ensure compliance with international standards?

At Rasa Juara Indonesia, we view our products as a representation of Indonesian culture, offering global customers a taste of our rich heritage. While sales figures are a key metric of success, we also measure cultural impact through customer testimonials and the growing awareness of Indonesian culture. When people share their positive experiences with our products, it signifies the cultural connection we’ve established. Beyond cultural impact, we ensure that our team and partners are always updated with local compliance and standards to guarantee that our products meet international regulations and are accepted by local governments. This commitment to cultural integrity and compliance allows us to expand into global markets while maintaining respect for local customs and laws.

What routines help you reflect on and learn from your experiences?

I make it a habit to take quiet moments for reflection, usually once a week and at the end of each quarter, to rethink and learn from my decisions and strategies. This routine allows me to evaluate my actions and identify areas for improvement. It gives me the opportunity to adjust and prepare better for the upcoming term, ensuring I can refine my approach and make informed decisions moving forward. This reflective practice helps me stay aligned with my goals.
