Lisa Su, CEO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), is set to meet the Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee in South Korea next week to discuss collaboration on securing supply with high-bandwidth memory, which is used in AI Intelligence Chipsets.

Lisa Su is all set to visit South Korea on March 18, plans to meet key partners Lee and Naver’s CEO Choi Soo-yeon

Naver, in a statement, said the meeting between Choi and the AMD CEO was scheduled, but declined to disclose any specific agenda.

Lisa Su’s meeting with Jay Y. Lee comes as demand surges for AI memory chips, including HBM, DRAM, and NAND, which are used by Nvidia, AMD, and many other big tech firms in the race to build data centers and power AI systems.

Su is also expected to meet with Naver, the country’s largest internet portal and search engine provider, to discuss broader cooperation.

These areas include expanding semiconductor supplies for data centres, building AI infrastructure, and collaborating on next-generation computer technologies.

Samsung started mass production of HBM4s last month, the world’s first shipment of advanced chips for AI accelerators.
