Allianz Trade has announced that Scott Munafo will become its new China CEO from 1 September 2026. He will be based in Shanghai.

Scott joined Allianz Trade in 2015 and has more than 11 years of experience with the company. He started as Regional Account Manager for Multinationals in the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa (MMEA) region, based in Milan. In 2017, he moved to Hong Kong as Regional Key Account Manager for APAC. In 2021, he became Regional Director for Northern Europe, based in London. In November 2025, he was appointed Group Head of Broker Management and Partnerships in Paris, leading the company’s global broker and partnership strategy. 

Before joining Allianz Trade, Scott worked as a Senior Managing Consultant at EY, Senior Key Account Manager at UNIA Global, and Engagement Manager at Capgemini Consulting. Prior to this, he also worked as an intern with the European Commission, European Parliament, and United States Senate.  

Scott has a law degree from Università Bocconi, with a focus on International Law and Legal Studies. He also holds an MBA from POLIMI Graduate School of Management, where he focused on Global Business & Management and served as an MBA Student Representative.

Rodrigo Jimenez, Regional CEO of Allianz Trade in Asia Pacific, said Scott’s international experience, commercial leadership and strong customer relationships make him well suited to lead the China business. Scott said he is honoured to take on the role and will focus on listening to customers and partners, creating long-term value and helping Allianz Trade build its next chapter in China.
