Chinese deep-sea robotics company SEALIEN ROBOTICS has raised new funding from several investors. The new investors include GRC SinoGreen Fund, Fortune Capital, GGV Capital, Addor Capital, China Insurance Investment, CETC Investment and an energy-technology fund managed by Cathay Capital, with TotalEnergies as a major investor. Some of the company’s existing investors also added more money.

The company is seeing strong demand for its underwater robots. By the end of July, SEALIEN ROBOTICS had received several hundred million yuan worth of new orders. It also expects to sign more contracts of a similar value in the next two months. Another potential CNY 1 billion in business is still under discussion. SEALIEN ROBOTICS makes large underwater robots called ROVs These robots are used in industries such as offshore oil and gas, wind farms, underwater cables and other marine projects.

Its products include the Singularity, which can operate at depths of up to 6,000 meters; the Phoenix, a 3,000-meter underwater cable-burial robot; and the Taurus, which can operate at 1,000 meters. The company is also developing autonomous underwater robots and AI software that can help control several robots together.

SEALIEN ROBOTICS expanded internationally in 2025 after getting a nearly US$10 million order from a UAE telecom company. The customer later increased its order from one robot to three. Today, the company has customers in countries including the UK, Norway, Brazil, Australia, UAE, Singapore and Indonesia.

Its growing overseas business shows that Chinese robotics companies are starting to compete globally in specialised industrial markets.
