Tencent Holdings raised approximately $5.7 billion through a dual-currency bond. Tencent plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, according to the deal term sheet, which also indicates proposed maturities of 10 and 20 years for the dollar market and 10 and 30 years for the yuan and dim sum markets. The latest borrowing comes as the company increases investment in AI infrastructure and products.

However, no specific use of proceeds has been confirmed for these proposed sales. Tencent’s proposed bond offering reflects how large technology companies use debt markets to support long-term financial planning. Tencent holds roughly $22 billion in offshore notes and has no publicly listed bonds coming due this year.
