Holiday Robotics has secured $103.3 million (₩155 billion) in a Series A funding round, announced on 13 July. This sets a new record for the largest Series A investment raised by a South Korean startup. It is also the biggest single funding round for a humanoid robotics company in the country. The round attracted strong support from both existing and new investors, including leading venture capital firms, financial institutions, and global investor Goodwater Capital. Their investment reflects growing confidence in the company’s vision and technology.
Founded by Song Ki-young, Holiday Robotics develops AI-powered humanoids to automate repetitive, physically demanding factory tasks alongside human workers. Powered by a 50-person team of elite researchers from MIT, KAIST, Seoul National University, and Samsung Electronics, the startup plans to double its workforce to over 100 employees to drive commercial expansion.
Its flagship humanoid robot, Friday, is built for manufacturing environments where it can improve productivity while remaining affordable for industrial use. The company is already running private trials with major businesses in the automotive, semiconductor and logistics industries. Holiday Robotics expects to begin sales in the second half of this year, 2026. It plans to manufacture 100 robots annually in the first phase, increase production to 1,000 units annually by 2027, and eventually develop facilities capable of producing over 10,000 robots annually.
“This funding demonstrates the confidence of investors in the tangible value of introducing humanoid robots to the factory floor,” stated CEO Song Ki-young. “Our next step is to showcase our strength through successful commercial deployments and to become a leader in the industry.”
