Clarity demands courage: the courage to move beyond the predictable and pursue what truly creates impact. Reshmi Raj’s professional journey reflects this principle with remarkable consistency. Today, as the managing director of Infoquest, she brings over 26 years of experience in the UAE’s technology landscape, having started her career as a software engineer after earning a degree in computer engineering. Early in her journey, however, she recognised that her strengths extended beyond technical execution towards understanding people, solving business challenges, and using technology as a strategic enabler.
This insight led her to transition into business development and sales, which defined her career trajectory. Over the past 23 years, she has developed deep expertise in retail technology, working closely with organisations to address operational, security, and customer experience challenges. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for Infoquest, which she built into a trusted technology partner with strong 16 years of market presence.
In a traditionally male-dominated industry, Reshmi has created a niche for herself as a first-generation business owner through her leadership that is marked by resilience, adaptability, and strategic vision. Her ability to forge global partnerships, including enduring collaborations with industry leaders, has positioned Infoquest as a comprehensive solutions provider. Her journey reflects a leadership philosophy centred on trust, empowerment, and continuous innovation. How she translates this vision into sustained growth and industry impact, Reshmi shares in this exclusive interview with TradeFlock.
Our differentiation in a highly competitive IT solutions and systems integration landscape has always been rooted in trust, service excellence, and the quality of solutions we bring to the market. At Infoquest, we have built the company on a simple yet powerful principle: every customer who comes to us with a challenge must leave with a solution. We do not see ourselves as just a product supplier; we position ourselves as problem solvers and long-term partners. Whenever a client approaches us with an operational, security, or efficiency challenge, we take full ownership of finding, creating, or customising the right solution.
Our long-term growth strategy is centred on three key pillars. First, a customer-centric approach, where we prioritise persistent relationships and aim to become trusted advisors. Second, continuous innovation and global partnerships, ensuring access to the latest technologies. Third, a strong service and after-sales commitment, because ongoing support is critical to sustained value.
Our success strategy is simple: every customer interaction must deliver clarity, confidence, and a clear path forward for driving trust, retention, and long-term growth.
Never give up. It may sound simple, but true success is built on persistence, consistency, and the courage to move forward despite challenges. Stay committed to your vision and give it your full effort. At the same time, remain grounded. Never forget your roots or the people who supported you, because success is never a solo journey.
Trust and empower your team. Respect their ideas, give them ownership, and create an environment where they can grow. In a rapidly evolving world, focus on areas where human judgement and innovation matter. Stay involved, understand the fundamentals, especially finance, and keep learning with passion and curiosity
Technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and organisations that fail to adapt risk being left behind. While traditional solutions like EAS and CCTV remain essential, the real transformation lies beyond these foundations. Over the next 3–5 years, I see several key trends shaping the future of retail and business.
AI-driven retail operations will play a critical role in automating processes, reducing manual errors, and enabling smarter, data-driven decision making through predictive analytics. End-to-end digitisation will connect stores, warehouses, and online platforms into seamless, integrated ecosystems, improving efficiency and visibility. RFID-enabled inventory management will be a game changer, offering real time stock accuracy and enabling effective omnichannel fulfilment. Additionally, there will be a growing demand for cost-efficient innovation, where solutions deliver measurable ROI without significantly increasing operational costs.
At Infoquest, we are preparing for these shifts by strengthening global partnerships and working closely with retailers to implement next generation solutions. Our focus remains on delivering scalable, practical technologies that help businesses transition into intelligent, data-driven ecosystems built for sustainable growth.
Entrepreneurship, for me, has always been a continuous learning journey shaped as much by challenges as by achievements. There hasn’t been one defining setback, but several moments have reshaped my perspective as a leader. In the early years of building Infoquest, one of my biggest lessons came from managing growth alongside cash flow. While we secured exciting projects, we also faced the uncertainty that comes with scaling a business. These experiences taught me resilience, financial discipline, and the importance of long-term sustainability over short-term gains.
Another key learning was balancing entrepreneurship with family life. As a woman and a mother of two in a demanding, male-dominated industry, it was not always easy, but it strengthened my ability to prioritise and lead with empathy.
With the support of my family and team, I learned that setbacks are not obstacles, but opportunities to grow stronger and build lasting resilience. My husband has consistently been by my side, offering his support and companionship whenever needed. I continue to rely on his guidance whenever I seek direction and clarity.
